Synopsis and Treatment
Synopsis :
The story begins with the main character approaching a computer then using it. You will then see him typing something on a search engine which will be "Is animation all about classic Disney?"
Character will then hear a narrator in the room, and he will then get in shock wondering where the voice is coming from
All of a sudden the computer creates a special effect and the character turns into a cartoon character. The video will then focus on the computer where the narrator makes the character focus on the screen. It will show archived work from previous students on what they have achieved.
The character then gets inspired and excited then puts his thumb up towards the camera and the narrator creates a cartoon brochure and the camera pans onto it.
Treatment:
Overall the video is going to promote the Animation course set in University of Wolverhampton School of Art.
It will start off with the main character approaching the computer going onto a search engine and typing in "Is animation all about classic Disney?" He then hears the Narrator which will then guide him to previous animation students work and show what learning outcomes can be done and what the student can gain from it. The character then gets inspired and sticks his thumbs up with the camera focusing on the course brochure and the WLV Logo.
Pacing: The tempo will start off on mid pace then it will change to quick and then slow to promote the university and course. As the audience will want to concentrate on the course at the end.
Style: This will be set in live action for the scene. It will then transform into a cartoon 2D.
Sound: Most of the sound will be raw using the natural environment but some parts of the scene will be using sound. They will be created using "Sound dogs".
Music: The promo will use a joyful inspirational music as to what is in trend with todays media. This will be created using a Music composer.
Mood: The mood will change as the scene goes on. The character will feel curious but once the character gets his answers, he will then feel excited and pleased.
Method: The Method that will be used is recording the actual play of the scene and rotor scoping the character once he turns into cartoon.
Software: Photoshop, TV Paint and possibly after effects will be used to make the live action / cartoon scene.
Editing: It will be all edited and finalised using "Premier Pro"
Audience: The audience will be for people looking to go university and study in the production field. It will be for people at the age of 18 + as there is no limit of when people can study.
Length: The promo video will be up to 20 seconds long
